    John Booth Thomson (1936-2018)

    John Booth Thomson, 81, of Frederick, MD, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Kline Hospice House of Mt. Airy. Born August 27, 1936 in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Pat and Frances Thomson.

    He served in the United States Army for 4.5 years.

    As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick (UUCF), he participated in the choir. John had a deep passion for music. He played the piano, organ, and trumpet and enjoyed singing with choral groups throughout his life. Traveling, gardening, photography, and spending time at the beach were favorite activities.

    John is survived by Sue Thomson, his wife of 47 years and many wonderful friends. His dog Katrina will dearly miss him.

    A Celebration of John's life will be held Saturday, August 18, 2PM at UUCF, located at 4880 Elmer Derr Road, 21703, Frederick, MD. A reception will be held after the service.

    The family would like to thank Citizens Care and Rehab Center, Hospice of Frederick County, Dr. Nikki Ho, Dr. Michael Costello for their exceptional care provided and the Junior Fire Company for their assistance during John's illness.

    Memorial donations can be sent to UUCF, or flowers will be graciously received.

    October 10, 1950 - July 25, 2018

    Clayton – Christine Hunko Thomson, age 67, died at her home on Wednesday July 25, 2018. Born October 10, 1950 in Kings County, NY to Jean Paul Hunko of Brooklyn and the late Stanley Vincent Hunko. Chris was a faithful member of the LDS Church in Smithfield.
    Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Bishop Tom Nehring officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 P.M. just prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
    Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Rod Thomson; daughters, Marisha Gordon, her husband David and their children, Makayla and Coleton all of Windermere, FL and Martusha Grant, her husband Collin and their children Elsie and Asher all of Columbus, OH; brother, Greg Hunko and wife Raquel of Las Vegas and sisters, Veronica Hunko and husband Lou Nevilles of Brooklyn, NY and Virginia McMillan and husband Don of Milltown, NJ.
